Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know.
- Is this structure fully legal for Brazilian citizens?
- Yes. The process involves legally ceasing your tax residency in Brazil through the "Saída Definitiva do País" (Definite Departure) process with the Receita Federal. Once completed, you are no longer liable for Brazilian taxes on your worldwide income, provided you do not spend more than 183 days a year in Brazil or maintain permanent resident status there.
- How long does the residency process take?
- The process is relatively fast. It typically requires two trips to Asunción. The first trip (approx. 3-4 days) is to file the application. The second trip (approx. 2-3 days) occurs a few months later to collect your permanent residency card (Cedula) and process your tax ID (RUC).
- Do I need to speak Spanish?
- No, you do not need to speak Spanish to obtain residency. Our team handles all the bureaucracy, translation, and local interactions for you. We accompany you to all government appointments to ensure a smooth process.
